I personally enjoy cantonese food very much, so i decided to try their prawn chee cheong fan. Everything there is pretty reasonably priced, they serve porridge, fried rice and pancakes.

The most interesting part in all of it was that the lady actually makes the chee cheong fan right in front of you! I was so facinated by the way it was made. It seemed so easy!

20 seconds later, I was presented with a tray of hot piping chee cheong fan! The taste was simply delicious, the flour made to perfect texture and the prawns ever so fresh! They were very generous with the ingredients. Not to mention that you can even mix the charsiew and the prawn together with no extra charge!

The chee cheong fan is priced at $3.50. Cheaper than if you eat it at catonese restaurants like crystal jade and imperial treasure! Plus they give you so much more than what you would get at the restaurant!
My ratings for this store would be:
Taste: 4/5
Price: 4/5
Ambience: 3/5
So the next time you're over at far east plaza, take the time to head down to the basement to try it out! Its located near the Shilin Food Stall, basement 1.
I hate coming to food blogs. Not that they aren't good, but because they're always so enticing with the photos. Good job. I'm hungry.
ReplyDeleteThough im not a fan of chee cheong fan, i feel kinda hungry just after looking at those photos!
ReplyDeleteI have never tried any of those as I am not a fan either. It was a good effort to make your way down all the way to far east. The pictures were taken clearly and I find it easy to read your blog :)
ReplyDeleteOMG I LOVE HA QIONG (the cantonese name)!!!!!!!! I am so going to try that stall when I head to FEP :D
ReplyDeleteI love open kitchen concepts too as they really shows the customer on how the food is prepared. :)
ReplyDeletebtw if you can cover on Carousel buffet it'd be really helpful as I am thinking of eating there but its so costly! :/
ReplyDeleteI'm really impressed at how such a simple dish can require so much effort to prepare.
ReplyDeleteSuch as the thickeness of the `skin', to ensure that it would not tear during steaming.
Good reviews and pictures too!
